PostNord is your solid partner in the Nordics
Are you looking for a logistics partner who is an expert in the Nordics and helps you expand your online store to the neighbouring countries? Sweden, Denmark, and Norway are PostNord’s home base, and we offer a comprehensive range of services throughout the entire Nordic region.
The Nordic countries are an attractive market for Finnish online stores, as our neighbours are more familiar with online shopping than we are. Swedes have long been one of the most active online shoppers in Europe, and e-commerce is more common also in Denmark than in Finland.
According to PostNord's E-Commerce in Europe 2021 report, almost 80 per cent of Swedes have shopped online in the last month, compared to less than 60 per cent in Finland. As a leading player in the Swedish parcel business, we will help you get familiar with our western neighbour.
PostNord is for the demanding online shopper
When it comes to delivery options, the most important thing for the consumer is the scope of the selection. PostNord's Nordic pick-up point network comprises more than 13,500 service points and parcel lockers, of which approximately 3,800 are located in Sweden and 5,200 in Denmark. The crown jewel of the network are PostNord's own parcel lockers, the total number of which we plan to increase to 12,500 during 2022.
Although Finns prefer to pick up their shipments from parcel lockers, research shows that home deliveries are still a popular option in both Sweden and Denmark. For Swedish consumers, who choose home delivery, we offer a flexible and modern delivery experience, where the driver's arrival time is narrowed down as the delivery approaches and the arrival of the package can be monitored in real time through the recipient’s phone. Additional flexibility is provided by the option to choose between day and evening delivery.
The recipient can track the shipment and customize the delivery in the PostNord mobile app, which is available in all the Nordic countries. The app allows the recipient, for instance, to change the delivery method from home to a pick-up point. It has 2.8 million satisfied users in the Nordic region, who provided more than three million reviews of PostNord’s service in 2021. Recipients give a rating of 4.7/5 for PostNord’s deliveries to pick-up points and 4.6/5 for home deliveries.
Climate first
PostNord wants to be the leader of the logistics industry in reducing climate emissions. Our goal is to provide fossil-free transport services in all the Nordic countries by 2030. Before that, we plan to achieve emission-free last mile transports no later than 2027.
The change will require massive investments to renew our fleet, and the number of electric vehicles in our terminals is already one of the biggest in Europe. Approximately 28 percent of PostNord's vehicles currently run on electricity. To achieve fully fossil-free transports, we are also constantly increasing the use of renewable fuels, such as biogas and renewable diesel, and they currently account for about a quarter of our total fuel consumption. In addition, we deliver completely fossil-free in more and more cities, such as Malmö, Uppsala, and Helsingborg.
As PostNord’s customer, you have access to our customer portal that allows you to track every shipment to Finland as well as Sweden and Denmark in one place. A new feature will soon be added to the customer portal, through which you can monitor the climate emissions of your deliveries in the Nordic region.
