Information about the new sulphur directive
On January 1, 2015, the new sulphur directive, that is governing maximum allowed sulphur content of fuel oil, will take effect. The directive means that the sulphur content of ship owners’ marine fuel must be reduced dramatically from the current 1.0% to 0.1%.
The directive covers all shipping on the Baltic Sea, North Sea and English Channel, and will lead to cost increases within the transport sector. It is still uncertain how the sulphur directive will affect the costs of our shipments. We will inform all our customers later on. More information will also be published on our websites.
